Technical Operations Consultant

Lexington, Kentucky
Overview: CDT is currently seeking an experienced Technical Operations Consultant for a government customer in Lexington, KY to conduct Tactical Operations Engineering & Verification. The functional test engineer verifies functionality baselines & validates successful integration of information security controls and remediations. The functional test engineer ensures all sensor systems processing throughout the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process fulfills the designed functional requirement and adheres to necessary IA security compliance requirements necessary to gain and maintain ATO.

Clearance: Candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens with an active Secret clearance. Candidates who do not meet these requirements will not be considered.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct functional testing and technical evaluations of electronic sensor systems.
  • Configure hardware, software, networks, and supporting components to support testing requirements.
  • Execute test procedures and validation activities to verify system functionality, performance, and interoperability.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and document system deficiencies, configuration issues, and performance limitations.
  • Analyze test results and provide recommendations for corrective actions and system improvements.
  • Support Approval to Operate (ATO) efforts through technical validation, testing documentation, and assessment activities.
  • Evaluate system integration requirements and ensure components operate effectively within the intended environment.
  • Coordinate with customers, vendors, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support testing activities.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, technical reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Support installation, configuration, maintenance, and sustainment of assigned systems and equipment.
  • Participate in demonstrations, site visits, field testing events, and customer engagements as required.
  • Provide technical guidance on system capabilities, limitations, configuration management, and operational use.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Signals Intelligence Collector.
  • Experience configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluating hardware and software systems.
  • Experience operating and employing sensor systems in real-world operational environments.
  • Understanding of system integration principles, networking concepts, and technical troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and communicate findings through written reports and verbal briefings.
  • Experience working with government customers, technical teams, vendors, or system developers.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Operational Experience as a Special Operations Signals Intelligence professional.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Signals Intelligence Professional.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience employing Signals Intelligence assets in support of Special Operations mission sets.
  • Proven ability to operate standalone and problem solve issues remotely.
