Overview: CDT is seeking a highly organized and technically skilled Small Business Enterprise Administrator to manage our Microsoft Office 365 environment and support our Azure-based infrastructure. This position is essential to maintaining secure, streamlined, and cost-efficient cloud operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with user account management, licensing oversight, and the architecture of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint to support knowledge management and collaboration across the organization. This position will be remote but will need to go to our Ashburn office on occasion.
Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain Microsoft Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
Manage user accounts, roles, licenses, and group policies via Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Azure Active Directory
Track and optimize Office 365 licensing costs and usage; provide recommendations on cost-saving strategies
Configure and optimize Microsoft Teams channels, permissions, and collaboration settings
Oversee SharePoint structure, file taxonomy, permissions, and metadata to support intuitive document storage and retrieval
Lead the implementation and improvement of knowledge management practices across Teams and SharePoint
Develop and maintain standardized file structures and naming conventions for departments and projects
Monitor system health and resolve technical issues related to Office 365 and Azure
Implement and maintain security configurations, including MFA, conditional access policies, and data loss prevention
Collaborate with leadership to plan for system upgrades, user training, and long-term cloud service strategy
Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies
Support integration of Microsoft services with third-party applications and internal tools
Qualifications:
2+ years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 environments in a business setting
Proven experience managing and optimizing Microsoft Teams and SharePoint environments for collaboration and knowledge management
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure (especially Azure AD, security, and cost management tools)
Familiarity with cloud-based service pricing models and license management
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
Experience working in a small business or entrepreneurial environment preferred
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MS-900, or equivalent) a plus
