Position: Finance Manager with HR Expertise
Overview: Cyber Defense Technologies (CDT), a leading small business cybersecurity and engineering firm, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager with expertise in human resources. This role integrates financial leadership with HR knowledge to support workforce planning, budgeting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will drive financial operations while contributing to HR processes and initiatives. Experience in government contracting is highly desirable, as this position involves navigating regulatory requirements and aligning financial practices with contractual obligations.
This is a remote position, and candidates must be U.S. Citizens able to pass a 5-year background investigation.
 
Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership and Management:
  • Oversee the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and manage financial strategies to ensure organizational goals are met effectively.
  • Perform financial analysis related to labor costs, benefits expenses, and operational budgets.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support financial decisions, including resource allocation and workforce planning.
  • Manage payroll operations in collaboration with HR, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Track and validate financial performance of contracts, including monitoring burn rates and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure compliance with financial reporting and contract modifications.
  • Administer and oversee company registrations, tax filings, and related operational requirements.
  • Monitor and manage company expenses, ensuring legitimacy, reasonableness, and adherence to policy.
HR Support and Integration:
  • Provide financial insights to support HR initiatives, such as salary benchmarking, workforce planning, and compensation reviews.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure compliance with federal, state, and contractual labor regulations.
  • Support employee-related financial operations, including benefits administration and cost analysis.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures and the company’s employee handbook.
  • Ensure accurate financial tracking and compliance with HR-related audits and contract renewals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Serve as the top-level administrator for the company’s charge code system, ensuring proper alignment with company policies.
  • Manage third-party financial service providers, ensuring accuracy and quality of services.
  • Oversee and coordinate facility and utility contracts, ensuring operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide actionable financial insights to leadership, fostering collaboration across HR, operations, and finance teams.
 
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, with exposure to HR operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, HR practices, and government contracting regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, HR systems, and payroll software.
  • HR certifications (e.g., SHRM) are a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong decision-making, management, and delegation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments.
